Who Can Apply FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship?

FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship is exclusively available to individuals who are both nationals and residents of the following eligible nations:

Africa & Middle East: Algeria, Angola, Burkina Faso, Chad, Democratic Republic of the Congo, Egypt, Ethiopia, Gambia, Jordan, Kenya, Lebanon, Madagascar, Mali, Namibia, Nigeria, Palestine, Somalia, South Sudan, Sudan, Yemen.

Asia & Europe: Afghanistan, Albania, Armenia, Azerbaijan, Bangladesh, Belarus, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Cambodia, Georgia, Kazakhstan, Kosovo, Kyrgyzstan, Laos, North Korea, North Macedonia, Republic of Moldova, Mongolia, Montenegro, Myanmar, Philippines, Republic of Cabo Verde, Serbia, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, Uganda, Ukraine, Uzbekistan, Vietnam.

Eligibility Criteria FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship

To qualify for this distinguished FAO Hungarian Government Scholarship, applicants must:

Hold citizenship and reside in one of the designated countries (listed above).
Possess an excellent academic record in a relevant field of study.
Demonstrate proficiency in English (as courses are conducted in English).
Exhibit strong motivation for contributing to agriculture, aquaculture, or animal science.
Be in good health to undertake an intensive academic program.
Preferably be under the age of 30 at the time of application.

Application & Selection Process

Phase 1: FAO Pre-Screening

The FAO will conduct an initial assessment of applications.
Qualified applications will be forwarded to Hungary’s Ministry of Agriculture.
The Ministry will then dispatch applications to the respective Hungarian universities.
Incomplete applications or those missing documents will not be processed.

Phase 2: University Selection Process

Shortlisted applicants may undergo a written or oral English assessment.
The designated Hungarian university will conduct the final selection process.
Successful candidates will receive notification from the Hungarian Ministry of Agriculture.
